Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Must-Have Skills/Experience: Labor and delivery experience Postpartum couplet care experience Nursery experience in a level 2 nursery or higher Description: Candidates must be prepared to start within 10 business days of offer acceptance. This is a 198-bed facility providing healthcare services to a diverse region. The facility is recognized for its state-of-the-art operating suites and specialty services. It provides comprehensive services including medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, and cancer care. The facility has received various awards for quality and aesthetics. Located in a picturesque valley, the community offers recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, and historical sightseeing. The labor and delivery unit features 17 beds and two triage rooms. Patient care follows AWHONN standards, with an average of 75 deliveries monthly. Required duties include cervical exams and assistance with infant deliveries during on-call physician reports. Practicing staff must perform duties consistent with the standard of care with minimal supervision. The unit handles a patient population that includes adults and newborns. Experience with fetal monitoring, stabilization of neonates, and triage assessment skills is preferred. Common diagnoses include labor, gestational diabetes, hypertension, intrauterine growth restriction, macrosomia, and substance use in pregnancy. Education requirements include an ADN or BSN. Candidates must have charge-level experience.
