UHealth/SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Special Procedures Tech 2 with a hire date of Fall 2025 . CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Verifies the patient’s ID by checking their name and date of birth; corroborates clinical history and ensures documentation is accurate and accessible. Assists with patient interviews before a procedure and documents all relevant information. Ensures that the attending radiologist obtains proper informed consent. Prepares the patient for procedures to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Notifies appropriate persons of any change(s) in patients’ status. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures and strictly practices aseptic technique. Assists the radiologist throughout procedures with all necessary supplies. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Positions the patient for the examination and obtains good technical quality scout film before starting procedures. Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure. Initiates life support measures for patients and assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during medical emergencies. Maintains working knowledge of all patient monitoring devices. Provides patient education in collaboration with other department staff. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate degree or equivalent Certification and Licensing: Radiology Technologist Certification Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
