Senior EHS Specialist

A global manufacturing organization in the animal health / life sciences space is looking to add a Senior EHS Specialist to their growing team in the Kansas City area. This role is highly focused on hands‑on safety leadership , partnering closely with operations to drive a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance across a large, fast‑paced manufacturing site. What you’ll be doing: Lead and manage day‑to‑day safety programs across the site Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety initiatives Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions Partner with leadership to implement injury prevention and safety improvements Deliver training for new hires, teams, and leadership Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal standards Stay visible on the floor and actively coach and influence safe behaviors What they’re looking for: 5–7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or regulated environments (pharma, food, chemical, etc.) Strong focus on safety (vs. purely environmental) Experience leading audits, investigations, and safety programs Ability to train, coach, and influence teams at all levels Strong documentation and reporting skills Certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM) are a plus Location: Shawnee, KS (on-site) Schedule: Primarily day shift with flexibility across operations Travel: Occasional regional travel (~25%) This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to be hands‑on, visible on the floor, and directly impact safety culture and performance within a growing, mission‑driven manufacturing environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
