Key Responsibilities
Test FHIR REST APIs (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE).
Validate FHIR resources such as Patient, Practitioner, Encounter, Observation, Coverage, Claim, and ExplanationOfBenefit.
Verify request/response payloads against FHIR standards and implementation guides.
Perform API functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Validate OAuth 2.0, SMART-on-FHIR authentication, and authorization workflows.
Create and execute test cases using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Selenium, Playwright, or similar tools.
Analyze JSON/XML payloads and troubleshoot data mapping issues.
Work closely with developers, business analysts, and healthcare SMEs to ensure compliance.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of HL7 FHIR R4/R5 standards.
Experience testing RESTful APIs.
Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Insomnia, or SoapUI.
Strong understanding of JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, and JWT.
Experience with healthcare data standards: HL7 v2, CDA, X12 (preferred).
Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect management tools like JIRA.
