Position Overview

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex patient populations while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Unit Description

This is a 36-bed adult surgical unit that primarily cares for:

• Trauma patients
• Acute care surgical patients
• Patients requiring rehabilitation and recovery support

Common Patient Diagnoses:

• Spinal cord injuries (including new paraplegic and quadriplegic patients)
• Traumatic brain injuries (TBI)
• Orthopedic trauma injuries
• Hernia repairs
• Small bowel obstructions
• Appendectomies
• Cholecystectomies

The unit also features two negative pressure rooms capable of supporting COVID patients when needed.

Patient Ratios

• Days: 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio
• Nights: 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio

Required Experience

✅ Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med Surg experience

✅ Recent Level I or Level II Trauma experience within the last 2 years

• Candidates without trauma experience within the last 2 years will be declined

✅ Preferred:

• Level I Trauma Center experience
• Multiple years of Level II Trauma Center experience
• Previous travel nursing experience (1+ year preferred)
