This is a working-supervisor role for someone who wants real technical ownership and a direct hand in developing the people around them. You'll lead a team of 2–4 Manufacturing Technicians and report directly to the Manufacturing Manager. Pay starts at $26.00/hour, with a clear, merit-based path up to $31.00/hour as you prove out key competencies and take on greater responsibility. Starting rate is based on your experience level coming in. This role is hands-on by design: you'll work the floor alongside your team while providing day-to-day direction, ensuring adherence to SOPs and cGMP standards, and serving as the go-to technical resource for chemical processing operations. What sets this role apart from a Manufacturing Technician III is direct supervisory accountability — ownership of daily production scheduling and task assignment, authority to review and approve batch records, and responsibility for escalating personnel and process issues to the Manufacturing Manager. You'll be expected to model best practices in safety, compliance, and technical execution while actively developing the technicians you lead.Team Leadership & SupervisionDirectly supervise a team of 2–4 Manufacturing Technicians assigned to chemical processing workflowsAssign daily tasks and production priorities, ensuring adequate personnel coverage and efficient workflow executionProvide hands-on technical guidance and real-time coaching during extraction, post-processing, and distillation operationsConduct regular performance check-ins, document observations, and communicate feedback and concerns to the Manufacturing ManagerLead onboarding, training, and qualification of new technicians on chemical processing equipment, safety protocols, and SOPsFoster a team culture grounded in safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvementEscalate personnel issues, production blockers, or safety concerns to the Manufacturing Manager promptly and with appropriate documentationChemical Processing OperationsActively participate in and supervise all chemical processing workflows: hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction, post-processing, and distillationOversee and execute full-cycle hydrocarbon extraction including pre-run preparation, closed-loop operation, solvent recovery, and post-run cleanup in strict compliance with safety protocols and internal SOPsSupervise and perform ethanol extraction processes including material loading, solvent chilling, wash cycles, filtration, and solvent recoveryOversee and execute post-processing operationsExecute and supervise distillation runs including equipment cleaning and yield documentationEnsure proper startup, operation, and shutdown of all processing equipment according to established proceduresMonitor process parameters across all workflows; intervene immediately when deviations occur and initiate CAPA documentationMaintenance & TroubleshootingSchedule, perform, and oversee routine preventive maintenance across all chemical processing equipment — including inspection and replacement of gaskets, seals, and filters; lubrication of fittings and valves; calibration of pressure gauges and temperature sensors; and cleaning of condensers, coils, and collection vesselsTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process deviations; coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and document all corrective actionsProactively identify equipment wear or process inefficiencies and escalate to the Manufacturing Manager with recommended solutionsCompliance, Documentation & QualityEnsure all chemical processing activities comply with Missouri DCR regulations, cGMP guidelines (21 CFR), NFPA 30 / OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 flammable liquid handling requirements, and internal SOPsReview and approve production batch records, equipment logs, and run data for accuracy and completeness prior to submissionOversee accurate solvent tracking, mass balance documentation, and flammable liquid storage compliance per NFPA 30 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106; flag and investigate unexplained cannabis product losses per MO RSMo 579.068 and DEA 21 CFR 1304 requirementsMaintain METRC compliance for all extract and distillate production; ensure timely and accurate batch entriesLead or participate in SOP development, review, and revision for chemical processing workflowsSupport internal audits, regulatory inspections, and quality investigations; ensure the processing area is inspection-ready at all timesEnsure all chemical storage, handling, and disposal practices comply with related regulationsAccurately weigh, measure, count, and label materials and products per established proceduresCross-Functional CollaborationServe as the primary point of contact between the chemical processing team and the Manufacturing Manager for daily operational updates, yield reporting, and deviation communicationCommunicate production status, yields, and deviations clearly in shift handoff documentationPerform all other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing ManagerWhat We're Looking ForEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required;
