About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery - General (Major) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 10 hours (12:30 PM - 11:00 PM) Experience: At least 2 years of experience License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) Must-Have: Robotic experience, open surgery experience, experience with firing staplers Description: Responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. Must be proficient in both robotic and open surgical techniques. Experience in scrubbing is required. Common surgical cases include robotic colon procedures, hernia repairs, gastric sleeves, gastric bypasses, and cholecystectomies. Charge Nurse or House Supervisor oversees the unit. Department includes 15 general surgery rooms across two buildings. Approximately 40-60 cases are performed daily for general surgery. Weeknight call will depend on physician needs covering evening shifts. Call response time is 30 minutes. Scrubs will be provided for staff. No weekend or holiday call requirements. Unit-specific orientation will be conducted. The organization maintains a drug-free environment. A negative drug screening is mandatory for all employees.
