Frederic C Gaeta DDS is looking for a skilled and caring Dental Chairside Assistant to join our team in beautiful Kailua Kona, HI! This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an experienced dentist in a welcoming practice where patient comfort and quality care come first. If you're passionate about dentistry and love making patients feel at ease, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures including fillings, extractions, and cleanings
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms between patient visits
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed by the dentist
- Record patient treatment notes and update dental charts accurately
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and proper oral hygiene techniques
- Manage dental supply inventory and assist with ordering materials as needed
- Greet patients and help create a calm, positive experience from check-in to checkout
- Prior experience as a dental assistant or chairside assistant preferred
- Dental assistant certification or completion of an accredited dental assisting program a plus
- X-ray certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Familiarity with dental terminology, instruments, and four-handed dentistry techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-focused attitude
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of OSHA and infection control standards
