Military‑friendly employer with USERRA support. Government Contract Physician Role Description Inova Occupational Health offers a unique contract with a local government entity. This position, currently PRN or Part‑Time, offers a balanced work‑life schedule (08 00‑16 00 Mon‑Fri, no call, no weekends) covering Travel Medicine, Occupational Health, low‑volume walk‑in clinic care and location emergency response. All combination options are available. Government Contract Physician Role Responsibilities Clinician and Emergency Response: Provide clinical duties in Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Occupational Medicine; identify conditions, institute immediate or temporizing treatment, and coordinate transport and follow‑up as needed. Teamwork/Coordination of Care: Communicate effectively and collaborate with Inova teammates, contractors, government employees and supervisors; demonstrate integrated approach to patient outcomes. Practice/Learning: Use and review evidence‑based standards, guidelines and protocols for delivery of patient care; incorporate new information to improve care continuously. Professionalism / Professional Development: Pursue lifelong learning; mentor others and provide guidance; demonstrate leadership through program development participation. Minimum Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic institution. Experience: 5 years of prior clinical experience; knowledge of occupational medicine and workplace health regulations. Certification: Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Occupational Medicine or Emergency Medicine; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) at start; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred but not required. Background check: Employment contingent upon meeting all federal credentialing and security requirements. Licensure: Unrestricted VA Medical (MD or DO) License and active DEA prescribing authority. Payor Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing process by third‑party payors; enrollment as CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor. Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of medical staff membership credentialing and appropriate clinical privileges to perform all required services. Preferred Qualifications 5 or more years of experience in Primary Care, Emergency Medicine. Military or Government experience as a physician or otherwise.
