Patent Counsel

For our client, we are seeking a Patent Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will provide business‑aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision‑making, and support sustainable growth within a Pharmaceuticals & Biotech environment. Location: Rahway, NJ - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $210,400 – $331,100 annually Responsibilities Develop patenting strategies with product development teams for biopharmaceutical products Draft and prosecute global patent applications for Company products and technologies Collaborate with litigation teams to support legal proceedings Engage with a team of patent attorneys and support staff Conduct freedom to operate analyses for R&D activities Support business development with IP due diligence and negotiations Travel domestically and internationally as required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in biological, pharmaceutical or chemical sciences Graduated from an accredited US law school Registered to practice before the USPTO Member of a state Bar or District of Columbia 5+ years of patent law experience in a law firm or corporate role Strong technical background in chemical or biological sciences Excellent communication and analytical skills Benefits Medical, dental, and vision healthcare coverage Retirement benefits including 401(k) Paid holidays and vacation days Compassionate and sick leaveAnnual bonus and long‑term incentives, if applicable Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
