This role will be PRN (5-15 hours per week). Events are held Mondays - Sundays, between 2-6 hours at length. Required to work 1 weekend shift per month. Mobile Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice Supports and empowers patients/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues Anticipates patients' ethical, spiritual and cultural needs and intervenes to maximize desired patient outcomes Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives Serves as a resource, preceptor and mentor and provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice Identifies own learning needs and develops professional goals, seeks opportunities to obtain education to enhance practice and collaborates in the development and implementation of an educational plan for identified needs Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Record Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery, participates in quality improvement initiatives and incorporates research findings into nursing practice May perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license Preferred Qualifications Other: Must live local to Loudoun County; flexible availability to work events which are anywhere between 2-6 hours long & ability to work 5-15 hours per week Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
