With a skilled team of 20+ providers, the clinic serves 175 to 300 patients daily, offering comprehensive services from pediatric check-ups and immunizations to adult wellness exams, chronic illness management, and women's health care. Known for personalized attention and high-quality care, the clinic is a trusted choice for families seeking exceptional medical services in a welcoming environment.Location: 234 Crooked Creek Parkway, Suite 200, Durham, NC 27713Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - FridayWhat you will do:The Ambulatory Nurse Manager provides both clinical and operational leadership across one or more ambulatory clinics, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. In collaboration with the Practice Administrator, this role aligns nursing priorities with overall clinic operations, supports providers and care teams, and promotes continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager also plays a key role in strategic planning, resource management, and the implementation of organizational and service line goals within the assigned clinics.Clinical Operations ManagementManage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a DUHS clinic.Work performed involves managing multi-specialty nursing services delivered within a specified clinic.Manage the clinic in the absence of the HealthCare Administrator/Practice Manager; be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility or staff.Develop and implement processes to enhance clinic operations and practices for ongoing quality improvement.Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate levels of equipment and supplies, and monitor equipment maintenance.Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO).Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory healthcare site's mission and objectives.Perform other related duties incidental to clinic operations.Strategic Planning & Program DevelopmentPlan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs, and activities.Collaborate with the Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager in determining fiscal requirements; submit budgetary recommendations including necessary nursing personnel and patient care materials.Personnel Management & DevelopmentManage various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling.Counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff as needed.Collaborate in the development, implementation, and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for all clinical staff.Collaborate with nursing colleagues in ambulatory care to promote optimal utilization of nursing resources among various clinics.Patient & Family-Centered CareAnalyze, develop, and maintain an effective and efficient nursing care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs across the continuum, achieving desired outcomes.Promote education for patients, patient families, and the community.Participate in direct patient care activities as a targeted strategy for role modeling or information gathering.Customer Service & CommunicationCultivate exemplary customer service throughout the organization.Promote effective communication skills including problem-solving, assertiveness, team support, feedback, active listening, and conflict resolution.What you will need:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Clinical Quality Management and Service management skillsOrientation, Accountability, Planning, prioritization and timeProblem solving and innovationInitiative financial savvyActive Listening, effective communication; identifying and recruiting top talentDevelop and retain talentShowing support- teambuilding, conflict prevention and managementMotivating and influencing managing vision and purposeWorking knowledge of regulatory requirements including North Carolina Nurse Practice Act Level CharacteristicsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.Experience:Three years of nursing experience is required.Related Nurse Manager experience preferred.Process Improvement experience preferred.Degrees, Licensures, Certifications:Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BCLS certification requiredNurses hired into leadership positions must obtain a leadership certification within three months of hireNew nurse leaders who are ineligible to sit for an exam because they have not been working in a leadership role for the minimum amount of time required must complete their certification within three months of becoming eligibleLean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
