Speech Language Pathologist / Speech Language Therapist Falk School | Buffalo, NY Pay: $39 – $42 per hour ($55,965 – $58,800 per school year based on a 35-hour week) Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:35 AM – 2:35 PM Why Falk School? Our classrooms are intentionally small—typically six students supported by one teacher and one teacher aide—allowing staff to develop meaningful relationships while providing individualized support. As a Speech Language Pathologist , you'll provide individual and group therapy to students with speech, voice, and language needs while collaborating closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams. You'll play an important role in helping students strengthen their communication skills, access instruction, and build confidence both in and beyond the classroom. Why Speech Language Pathologists Choose Falk School Small classroom sizes and individualized student support Collaborative multidisciplinary school teams Paid school breaks and holidays Optional six-week summer session Meaningful relationships with students Graduate course credit and Master's Degree stipend, if applicable Opportunities for professional growth Make a lasting impact every day Responsibilities Plan and provide individual and group speech and language therapy aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide therapeutic services addressing speech, voice, language, and communication needs Conduct speech and language evaluations using standardized assessments, observations, student histories, and other appropriate methods Develop and recommend individualized speech and language goals as part of the IEP process Prepare comprehensive written evaluation reports outlining student strengths, needs, and recommendations Monitor student progress and adjust therapy interventions based on individual needs and progress Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support students' communication development and academic success Participate in multidisciplinary team and IEP meetings to review student progress, evaluation results, and intervention plans Support the implementation of students' Behavior Intervention Plans and other individualized supports as applicable Maintain accurate therapy documentation, progress notes, and required student records Respond calmly and effectively when supporting students experiencing challenging or escalating behaviors Participate in professional development, school meetings, and other duties as assigned Qualifications Graduate degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program Knowledge of speech and language development, assessment, and therapeutic intervention strategies Experience working with children or adolescents preferred Experience working in a school or special education setting preferred Strong communication, collaboration, assessment, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Valid driver's license preferred Paid holidays and school breaks Generous sick and personal time to support work-life balance Optional six-week summer session to earn additional income or enjoy your summer off Health, dental, and vision insurance options Health Savings Account (HSA) with quarterly agency contributions Employer-paid life insurance Supplemental short- and long-term disability insurance options 403(b) retirement plan with a 4% employer contribution Graduate course credit and Master's Degree stipend, if applicable Annual wage increases, typically ranging from 3–9% Employee Referral Program Eligibility for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness programs Falk School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
