Presbyterian is hiring a Pediatric Charge MET RN who is responsible for coordinating patient care, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring safe, efficient operations on a pediatric unit. Provide expert clinical guidance to nurses, techs, and support staff. Monitor patient acuity and adjust assignments to maintain safe workloads. Support escalation of care, rapid response activation, and emergency interventions. Deliver age‑appropriate, family‑centered nursing care to pediatric patients with medical and surgical conditions. Perform assessments, administer medications, and implement care plans. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans. Manage daily unit operations, including bed placement, admissions, transfers, and discharges. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols. Facilitate communication between departments such as pharmacy, lab, respiratory therapy, and transport. Participate in shift huddles, safety rounds, and handoff processes. Mentor and precept new nurses and support staff. Provide real‑time coaching and feedback to promote clinical excellence. Assist with conflict resolution and promote a positive team culture. Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Report safety events, near misses, and quality concerns. Communicate shift‑to‑shift updates, staffing issues, and operational needs to leadership. Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire 3 to 5 years of experience in a pediatrics REQUIRED We're all about well-being, starting with yours.
