Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - ICU
• Location: Council Bluffs
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Night Shift
• Schedule: 3x12

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity patients in the Intensive Care Unit
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and advanced life support treatments
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic data, and vital signs
• Operate and manage critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient status
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care guidelines

Requirements

• Active RN License in Iowa
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• NIHSS Certification preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience managing ventilated and critically ill patients
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
