Job Description Job Summary: Services, supports, and maintains electrical equipment within the determined geographical location. Performs electrical preventative maintenance on equipment using the Maximo system. Key Responsibilities: Maintains safe work habits and actions in all aspects of the daily task; evaluates reactive work for safety issues, plans projects so that safety is key, and reviews preventative work for any unforeseen items that may present safety hurdles.
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem.
Conforms to National Electric Code and National Fire Protection Association 70E, Cummins Production Equipment Specifications, and applicable international standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems which are 600 volts and below.
Plans, installs, assembles, and troubleshoots all portions of electrical or communication wiring and components including hanging conduit, installing circuit breakers, testing and installing new equipment and fixtures, and diagnosing malfunctioning systems.
Utilizes plant electrical distribution knowledge to support customer needs and defines location of addition loading or consults the appropriate facilities personnel to determine location.
Orders supplies from various vendors and assists in managing spare parts inventories.
Prepares, sketches, notes modifications, or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Utilizes software to track, assign, and prioritize reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance work, and building management system.
Follows manufacturer's recommended preventative maintenance schedules and startup procedures.
Communicates technical information to customers regarding projects.
Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatuses, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
Works cross-functionally to make repairs within one's capability.
Performs work in a wide variety of conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture.
Maintains housekeeping and safety in work areas.
Participates in training and personal development; assists in training department personnel and apprentices.
Communicates within the assigned team and with all support teams. Understands and applies appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work.
Knows and complies with departmental, site, and company safety policies and procedures including the proper wear and use of require personal protective equipment.
Participates in improvement projects; uses common problem solving techniques while working alone or in teams.
Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.
Completes work with minimal supervision.

Factory Automation and Control Systems - Implements changes to further automate manufacturing processes using available technology, programming techniques, and identifying needed material and resources for project completion to provide the optimum automation for the manufacturing environment. Machine Programming - Creates factory floor machine programs by designing and implementing solutions to improve usage of machine and overall operation. Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement. Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND
Associate's degree with two-four years of relevant experience OR
Trade certificate with six years of relevant experience OR
Eight years of relevant experience OR
Department of Labor certification.
Must pass all related testing.
Experience:
Associate's degree with two-four years of relevant experience OR Trade certificate with six years of relevant experience OR Eight years of relevant experience OR Department of Labor certification. Qualifications Journeyman Electrician The criteria for open positions will be based on geographic area seniority. Where more than one employee has the same geographical area seniority date, seniority will be determined by alphabetical rank of their last name, at the time of hiring. All bids and/or de-selection bids must be submitted in MYHR by 7:00 am on POSTING REMOVAL DATE Bids arriving late will NOT be honored. Successful applicants will move on the 3rd Monday after selections are posted. Probationary employees are not eligible to bid on this posting. Employees who are successful bidders will not be eligible to bid again for twelve (12) months from the effective move date. Employees eligible to be considered under the 24 hour eligibility criteria may bid on job regardless of bid rights, UNLESS that employees has already been a successful candidate on a previous 24 hour bid posting, then the employee is locked in for 12 months and cannot bid on another 24 hour bid posting during those 12 months.
