Projects Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Engineering Projects Specialist - Municipal Work is responsible for coordinating, managing, and providing technical expertise on various municipal engineering projects. This role ensures that public infrastructure projects, including roads, water systems, drainage, and facilities, comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The specialist works closely with consultants, contractors, engineers, and inspectors to ensure projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and on schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school diploma or associate of science degree in construction management or related field with civil courses preferred. Minimum of five years related state or local government experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements: Texas Department of Public Safety - Public Works Institute Local Government Project Procedures Qualification City of Conroe's Super User for Raken Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Texas purchasing laws. Knowledge of property acquisition laws. Knowledge of Microsoft 365. Skill interacting with consultant engineers and contractors to meet all City of Conroe deadlines. Ability to interact with utility companies and facilitate new service and relocate existing services that interfere with new proposed City infrastructure. Ability to organize, plan and keep up with work schedules and employee assignments. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to make effective presentations to various groups and assemblies. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is light and requires the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, and visual acuity.
