Polysomnographic Tech

Department: 02362 HC Rome MOB 1825 Martha Berry Blvd - Sleep Medicine: Sleep Disorder Laboratory Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Wed - Friday 8p-8a or done with patients. Pay Range $28.55 - $42.85

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Review history, physical, medications, order, and study protocol. 2. Complete and verify documentation. 3. Prepare and verify documentation. 4. Prepare and calibrate equipment and troubleshoot as necessary. 5. Apply electrodes and sensors according to the International 10-20 system. 6. Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting and titration. 7. Conduct artifact-free studies and make adjustments. 8. Implements appropriate interventions including CPAP, Bi-level, and oxygen administration. 9. Assists with Sleep/Wake stages. 10. Cleans equipment according to protocol. 11. Monitors inventory. 12. Scores polysomnographic studies according to The AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events. 13. Serves as a resource for Polysomnographic technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 0. Must be registered by the BRPT. 1. Must obtain 10 CECs in Sleep per year. 2. Must have valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Experience: 0. Minimum one year experience with psg and cpap titrations preferred but not required. Skills: 0. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and provide great customer service under stressful situations. 1. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner in both verbal and written form. 2. Ability to multi-task. 3. Ability to adapt quickly to change. 4. Ability to work both independently and with co-workers. 5. Ability to use and manage time efficiently. 6. Ability to follow the direction of supervisory personnel.
