Optometric Technician is a valuable asset to an optometrist as they assist in providing a world class Total Patient Experience. This team member is able to handle a wide range of duties while using optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Optometrist.
An Optometric Technician assists the doctor in preliminary testing, verifies medical and vision insurances, effectively communicates with patients, doctors, and managers, and answers inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.
High school diploma or GED equivalent, basic computer skills, strong customer service skills, and excitement to learn and grow are required. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and works in a normal office/clinical environment. Travel to other locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
