Mechanical Sr Engineer II

Zimmer Biomet seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Austin to develop robotic surgical technologies. The role involves designing components, conducting engineering analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative medical device solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define product functional requirements and testing strategies aligned with standards and regulatory requirements
- Design, test, and integrate mechanical components and sub-assemblies into final products
- Perform root cause analysis and evaluate solutions against design specifications
- Generate CAD models and detailed engineering drawings meeting company standards
- Collaborate with development team, manufacturers, and product specialists on project execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Solidworks and 3D CAD modeling software
- Experience with FEA, CFD simulations, and tolerance stackup analysis
- Medical device development background with V&V testing and 510K submission knowledge
- Familiarity with risk management tools, dFMEA, and IEC60601 safety standards
- Power tool development experience preferred
- Knowledge of thermal treatment and welding processes for stainless steel
Compensation: $120,000-$140,000
