Job Summary: Leads the daily operations of the electroneurodiagnostic (END) testing area, ensuring that all compliance requirements and quality standards are met.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources and staff. Oversees orientation and training and serves as a resource to department staff.
• Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
• Conducts intraoperative monitoring and post-surgical monitoring of stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) during surgical procedures.
• Performs diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) procedures when not in the operating room. Performs neuromonitoring of routine and continuous EEGs.
• May perform Magnetoencephalography (MEG) procedures or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) procedures.
• Works under limited supervision with oversight focused on complex new assignments. Completes a variety of atypical assignments.
• Routinely checks status of EEG software, troubleshoots, and notifies appropriate service and user personnel when troubleshooting procedures fail.
• Maintains appropriate logs for statistical and accounting purposes, and performs calculations for required reports.
• Assists in quality assurance monitoring, environmental controls, infection control standards, equipment selection, operation, application and inventory.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains EEG, EMG, and MEG equipment and supplies.
• May provide input for hiring, training, leading, and evaluating staff.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

Experience:

• Three years' experience in electroneurodiagnostic procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
• Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
• Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting/moving patients.
• Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
• Occasional driving.

• Or
• Certified in Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) - American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)

• Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) - ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation
• Or
• Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T.) - American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET)
