School Bus Driver

Role Overview: A School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and effective behavior management. Key Responsibilities Operate school buses and commercial vehicles following traffic laws and safety regulations Transport students to designated locations, including schools, extracurricular activities, and events Enforce behavior policies and maintain order on the bus to ensure passenger safety Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety and cleanliness Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers, utilizing multilingual skills if needed Assist students during boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs Maintain accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidents Follow all transportation-related federal, state, and local regulations Qualifications & Skills Proven or preferred experience in bus or commercial driving, especially in school transportation or paratransit services Strong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor troubleshooting is advantageous Experience working with children or in childcare enhances understanding of student needs Multilingual abilities or experience in caregiving or teaching can be beneficial Valid driver's license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred Ability to write reports or documentation related to transportation activities Benefits & Additional Information The role offers full-time employment with competitive hourly pay, and benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, paid training, and tuition reimbursement.
