Epic Analyst

Job Summary We are seeking an Epic Analyst certified in Hospital Billing to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the ongoing assessment, design, development, and implementation of corporate-wide clinical systems. You will bridge the gap between clinical operations and technical teams by translating complex user needs into meaningful business requirements. This role covers a blend of system optimization, upgrade testing, ticket resolution, and application support. Location New York, New York Job Type Contract Salary $85 - 100 per hour Work Hours 9am to 5pm Education No Degree Required Responsibilities Analyze and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications. Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess business and clinical needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Convert information gathered into details including data sources, data and user types, interface components, interface navigation needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs. Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non‑functional requirements. Provide the project management team with identified risks, concerns, and ambiguities discovered during requirement gathering; assist the team in developing solutions. Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation in accordance with the project schedule. Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups as well as oversee and execute follow‑up activities. Ensure the software development team accounts for all defined requirements in coordination with the quality assurance team; ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards. Document changes to baseline requirements through the standard change control process; create software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines, and other materials. Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders. Perform end‑user and application support functions, including problem solving and resolution of application function defects. Develop and execute project presentations. Participate in special projects as required. Provide training to and serve as a mentor for Junior Clinical Business Analysts and other appropriate project team members; manage and evaluate work products for assigned team members. Lead the training, development, and implementation of process improvements for all projects and applications. Identify opportunities for process improvements; provide analysis and propose change and communicate strategies. Provide supervision and direction to junior clinical business analysts, clinical business analysts at Levels I and II, consultants, and other appropriate project team members. Interview Junior Clinical Business Analysts and other appropriate project team members. Due to the responsibilities of your position, you may be required to work beyond your regularly scheduled hours. The role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on‑site; you must be able to come into the office within 48 hours if required. Qualifications Epic certification, including Hospital Billing. At least 2 full life‑cycle implementations of Epic or similar clinical applications. Clinical background preferred. Preferred educational levels: A Master’s Degree or advanced clinical degree with two years of relevant experience; or A Baccalaureate Degree with five years of relevant experience; or A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience. 2‑5 years of experience with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications. Certification(s) and NYS Licenses: specialty certification(s) issued by a national program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution, credited toward one year of required experience.
