This is primarily aclinic basedposition with rotations to cover inpatient consultation and inpatient care of patients with acute hematologic conditions.
Prior experienceinbenign and/or malignant hematologywithinanacademichealth systemis preferred, although strong candidates in theearly stagesof their careersand current fellowswill be considered.MaineHealth is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated,state-of-the-art, cancerand hematologycare across a network thatcares forover 8000new cancer patients each year. The cancer and hematology programs have grownsignificantlyover the past three years andexceed80% market share across the state of Maine. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups.
The MaineHealth Cancer Center andMaine Medical Center are based in Portland, Maine;one of the nation’s top small port cities. The annual base salary for this position is $430,000.
