Sanitation Team Member

Responsibilities Set up and close down pot and pan area according to established department and regulatory processes Clean, sanitize, air‑dry, and store all pots, pans, and serving utensils following department standards Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and equipment Notify supervisor of any safety hazards Document sanitizer solutions as specified in department standards Clean and sanitize all assigned equipment in the food service department Sweep and mop assigned areas of the food service operation Remove trash and empty grease bins as assigned Collect daily supply of clean rags Practice safety and sanitation techniques that meet department standards, using correct body mechanics Utilize chemicals according to departmental and manufacturer guidelines, practicing a "clean as you go" approach Demonstrate accuracy, clarity, and sound decision‑making in verbal and written communication Attend meetings, in‑services, and training sessions Complete CBT, flu shot, and other hospital requirements Follow hospital and department dress codes Perform additional duties as needed based on department requirements (e.g., dishroom duties) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as related to essential job activities Effective communication skills Can train individuals with no prior experience Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Exposed to extreme temperature changes and heat from pot room Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance and/or 10–15 pounds frequently; ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, with lifting equipment or additional assistance required for heavier loads Perform large amounts of bending and lifting as related to essential job activities Exposure to cleaning chemicals Work performed in a food service environment that may involve standing for extended periods and working in close proximity to hot equipment This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
