Sales Development Representative

IT By Design is hiring a Sales Development Representative to drive net-new customer acquisition within the Managed Service Provider (MSP) ecosystem. This is a quota-carrying hunter role for a driven sales professional who builds their own pipeline and closes their own deals.

You will own the full sales cycle from cold outreach and pipeline creation through discovery, solutioning, and close selling ITBD Core products, including NOC and managed services, talent solutions, AI solutions, and SaaS solutions, to MSPs. You will be measured on net-new MRR booked.

This is a new business role. Once an account is signed, it transitions to our Customer Success team, and you move on to the next logo.

What You Will Own:

• Net-New MRR

  Generate net-new monthly recurring revenue by acquiring MSP customers for ITBD Core products, including 24x7 NOC and managed services, talent solutions, AI solutions, and SaaS solutions.

  
  

• Pipeline Creation: Self-source 70%+ of your pipeline through outbound calling, LinkedIn social selling, targeted email cadences, industry events, and referrals. There is no SDR team feeding you leads — an empty pipeline is your responsibility.
• Full-Cycle Ownership: Run every deal end to end — prospecting, discovery, solutioning, proposal, commercial negotiation, and close.
• Field Presence: Represent IT By Design at MSP industry events, peer groups, and trade shows, including our own Build IT Live conference, where you will meet prospects face to face.
• Solution Selling: Position ITBD Core products — NOC and managed services, talent solutions, AI solutions, and SaaS solutions — against real customer pain, articulating ROI to both technical buyers and business owners.
• Forecast Discipline: Maintain accurate CRM records (HubSpot, Salesloft), reliable forecasts, and weekly pipeline reviews with sales leadership.
• Clean Handoff: Work with Solutioning, Delivery, and Customer Success so every new customer has a smooth onboarding and a referenceable first 90 days.

Who We Are Looking For:

• A true hunter: Comfortable picking up the phone, running your own outbound motion, and building pipeline from a cold start without a safety net.
• A services seller: You have sold services rather than product or license resale, and you understand how recurring-revenue contracts are structured and measured.
• Credible with owners: You can hold a confident, consultative conversation with a business owner or executive — leading discovery, handling objections without defensiveness, and earning trust quickly.
• Coachable and driven: You want to learn the MSP market deeply, take feedback, and build a repeatable outbound motion. We will invest in your enablement; you bring the work ethic.
• Road-ready: Willing and able to travel domestically (estimated 25–35%) for prospect meetings and industry events, and to work on-site in Freehold, NJ.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have:

• 3–6 years of B2B sales experience , with at least 2 years selling IT services, managed services, technical solutions, or recurring-revenue services in a quota-carrying, full-cycle closing role.
• Proven MSP sales experience demonstrated success selling to MSP owners, COOs, service delivery leaders, or MSP end-clients, with a strong understanding of the MSP business model, including MRR, ARR, churn, ticket economics, and service delivery.
• Strong hunter and pipeline generation track record, with the ability to build a territory from the ground up through cold calling, LinkedIn, referrals, events, and self-generated opportunities.
• Consultative selling expertise across solutions such as NOC, SOC, Helpdesk, Network, cybersecurity, AI, technical staffing, or B2B SaaS, with the ability to sell value to both technical and executive audiences.
• Strong CRM and sales-engagement skills , including HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft, Apollo, or similar tools, with experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through close.
