Line Cook / Prep Cook / BBQ Cook (Pit Assistant)

Location: Allure Bar & Lounge

Position Summary

Allure Bar & Lounge is seeking a dependable, energetic, and team-oriented Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality menu items, assisting with food preparation, supporting our BBQ program, and maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in producing consistent food, and is willing to assist wherever needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Line Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Allure Bar & Lounge recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate grills, fryers, flat tops, ovens, smokers, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Maintain assigned station during service with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain proper portion control to minimize waste.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure guest satisfaction during peak service.

Prep Cook Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, meats, cheeses, and other ingredients.
• Prepare sauces, seasonings, marinades, dressings, and house recipes.
• Stock and organize prep stations before each shift.
• Label, date, rotate, and properly store food following FIFO procedures.
• Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
• Complete daily prep lists and communicate inventory needs to management.

BBQ / Pit Assistant Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and seasoning brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage, and other smoked meats.
• Monitor smokers and BBQ equipment under the direction of the Kitchen Manager or Pit Master.
• Wrap, rest, slice, and portion smoked meats for service.
• Prepare BBQ side dishes and ensure product quality throughout service.
• Maintain wood, charcoal, pellets, or fuel supplies as assigned.
• Clean and maintain smokers, grills, and BBQ equipment.

Kitchen Operations

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment throughout each shift.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Follow all health department regulations and food safety standards.
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures.
• Help with inventory counts and stock rotation.
• Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, Grill Cook, or BBQ Cook preferred.
• Basic knowledge of grilling, frying, smoking, and food preparation techniques.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Food Handler or ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work safely in hot kitchen and outdoor BBQ environments.
• Bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
