Power System Engineer

Conduct field surveys to safely collect and verify existing electrical distribution system conditions Gather and compile data from clients, utilities, and vendors for system modeling using SKM and ETAP Perform technical studies including: Arc flash analysis Load flow analysis Short circuit analysis Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing study results, identifying code and standards non‑compliance, and providing actionable recommendations Project & Technical Leadership Lead the development of innovative, technically sound electrical engineering solutions across multiple concurrent projects Prepare detailed electrical design packages, technical specifications, and bid documents for power distribution systems Develop and manage project schedules, cost estimates, and budgets for assigned engineering work Review engineering deliverables and staff performance to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards Provide constructive feedback, including redline reviews and guidance on technical issues Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth and a culture of continuous improvement Support staff development through training and career guidance Code & Standards Compliance Ensure all engineering work complies with applicable codes and industry standards, including: NFPA 70 (NEC) NFPA 70E IEEE 1584 IEEE 242 Apply advanced knowledge of these standards to design, analysis, and documentation Technical Expertise Specify and design medium‑voltage electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, MCCs, motor starters, drives, and transformers Provide technical direction to design teams to ensure solutions are safe, maintainable, cost‑effective, and constructible Qualifications & Requirements Education & Credentials Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred Experience 3–5 years of experience performing power system studies Technical Qualifications Proficiency in ETAP or SKM is required (experience with both preferred) Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, electrical safety, and equipment specification Experience developing and managing project schedules, cost estimates, and budgets #J-18808-Ljbffr
