Construction Safety & Field Quality Coordinator
Schommer
Job Description
Job Description
Schommer & Sons is seeking a full-time, on-site Construction Safety & Field Quality Coordinator to support daily field operations, reinforce our established safety culture, and assist with construction quality oversight on a large-scale commercial construction project.
As a direct employee and authorized representative of Schommer & Sons, the Coordinator will have the authority to enforce established project safety requirements, direct safety-related corrective actions, and stop unsafe work activities in accordance with company policies and project procedures.
This is a hands-on, field-focused position. The primary responsibility is to maintain a consistent and approachable presence throughout the jobsite, conduct daily safety inspections, engage directly with subcontractor foremen and craft personnel, and ensure daily safety requirements are followed.
The Coordinator will also support the Project Superintendents with field-level quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), including observing ongoing installations, comparing work against approved drawings and specifications, identifying visible deficiencies, and reviewing completed work for quality and workmanship.
