Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Greenville, SC 29605
Job Type: Contract – No Benefits
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 3 × 12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted

Pay Rate

• Local: $40–$44/hour, based on experience
• Traveler: $1,800–$1,900/week, based on experience

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience required.
• Active South Carolina RRT license required and must be in hand. Pending licenses are not accepted.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Proficiency in Adult Critical Care settings required.
• Experience with:
  • Extubation
  • Nasal airway placement
  • Suctioning and oral suctioning
  • Oral airway placement
  • Pulmonary hygiene
  • Sputum specimen collection
  • Tracheostomy care
• Experience administering respiratory medications, including:
  • Albuterol
  • Atrovent
  • Combivent
  • Flovent
  • Inhaled steroids
  • Ispurel
  • Lidocaine
  • Perforomist
  • Pulmicort
  • Racemic epinephrine
  • Spiriva
  • Terbutaline sulfate
  • Tobramycin
  • Xopenex
• Experience delivering medications through aerosol setup masks, aerosol setup trachs, Medihalers, and Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs).
• Experience with hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers.
• Experience with high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy.
• Experience managing BiPAP and CPAP .
• Experience troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation.
• Trauma Level I experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required.
• Must be able to float to other units or campuses as needed. Floating will be limited to areas where the therapist is qualified and has documented competencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to adult and geriatric patient populations .
• Perform extubation, nasal airway placement, suctioning, oral airway placement, oral suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care.
• Administer prescribed respiratory medications and treatments.
• Deliver medications through aerosol setups, Medihalers, and Metered Dose Inhalers.
• Utilize hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers.
• Provide high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy.
• Manage patients receiving BiPAP and CPAP.
• Troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation.
• Provide care in critical care and trauma settings while following established respiratory therapy protocols.
• Float to other units or campuses as needed while working within documented competencies and qualifications.
