PRICE ELECTRIC is seeking a motivated and innovative CAD Technician to work closely with the Pre-Construction Department, project managers, and field staff to ensure model content meets expectations and timelines. For the right candidate, this position could be a steppingstone for growth and development in the PRICE ELECTRIC pre-construction department.
What You'll Do:
- Utilizing authoring and review software to translate design requirements into usable 2D plans and 3D models for coordination, installation, and fabrication
- Retrieving vendor quotes, analyzing for accuracy and providing recommendations to BIM Techs
- Adhering to standard design practices and processes
- Assisting BIM Techs with itemized tasks using high attention to detail
- Meeting scheduled deliverables provided by BIM Techs
- Revising drawings and designs based on markups from BIM Techs
- Printing documents, plans, and labels for transmittal to third parties
- Participating in ongoing professional development to build knowledge and implement updated practices
- Checking work for accuracy before next-level review
What We're Looking For:
- Possess AAS degree in architectural drafting or at least two years of MEP construction experience
- Skill in interpreting 2D plans, diagrams and blueprints electronically or hard copy
- Understanding of 3-D coordination with other trades
- Take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working design documents.
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
- Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
- Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Procore, and Bluebeam is a plus
