You’ll think on your feet, ask good questions, and offerclear, supportive guidance. If you’re comfortable presenting to small or medium-sized groups,even better. You’ll help host information sessions for students andfamilies and contribute ideas for new outreach efforts. Job Summary Provides financial aid counseling and education services to assiststudents and/or parents in the application process, deliverysystem, programs, and student award preparation, including, but notlimited to federal, state, institutional, and private sources offinancial aid. Essential Functions Provides information on aid application and awarding process;budgeting and financial literacy; and scholarship availability andeligibility requirements. Interprets financial aid rules andprocesses. Ensures compliance with federal Higher EducationOpportunity Act (HEOA) as well as other federal, state,institutional and private financial aid regulations and policies.Resolves financial aid related questions and escalations related toall federal, state and institutional aid programs. Assists withgeneral financial aid questions and processes as needed. Providescommunication and outreach to participants. May coordinate andschedule presentations and workshops, develop marketing materialsand financial aid forms and/or manage social media messaging.Promotes department visibility and/or assists with events tosupport student engagement, retention, and recruitment. May focuson special student populations. Conducts financial aid workshopsand outreach. Assists in the development and presentation offinancial aid information to high schools, various on-campus andoff-campus groups and organizations. Provides oversight for studentassistants and serves as a staff resource on complex financial aidadvising questions. Job Duties - Advising and Counseling: Provide one-on-one financial aidcounseling to students and their families. Explain financial aidprograms, eligibility requirements, application processes, andaward procedures. Appropriate customer service response times tothose requesting information and accuracy in what is beingprovided.

• Application Assistance: Assist students in completing financialaid forms, including FAFSA, scholarships, and loan applications.Ensure accuracy and timeliness in submissions.
• Student Support: Address and resolve financial aid-relatedconcerns and issues. Advocate for students and provide guidance onfinancial management and budgeting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, includingAdmissions, to ensure seamless support for students. Participate inoutreach activities and workshops to promote financial aidawareness.
• Compliance and Documentation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge offederal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations. Ensurecompliance and accurate documentation of all financial aidactivities.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, OneStop, Student Success,CARE Team and other relevant departments to provide integratedsupport services. Attend cross-departmental meetings to discusspolicy updates, procedural changes, and improve servicedelivery.

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Three (3) years of experience in financial aid or relatedfield. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted forone (1) year of experience, up to 120 hours. None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aidregulations, policies, and procedures.

• Capable delivering captivating presentations on financial aidtopics, tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity andengagement.
