About the Role:

The Music Therapist PD - Board Certified Music Therapist plays a vital role in delivering therapeutic interventions through music to individuals across diverse populations within the United States. This position focuses on utilizing evidence-based music therapy techniques to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs, thereby enhancing clients' overall well-being and quality of life. The therapist will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique goals and challenges. Additionally, the role involves ongoing assessment and documentation of client progress to ensure effective outcomes and adherence to professional standards. Ultimately, this position contributes to advancing holistic care by integrating music therapy as a powerful modality within healthcare and community settings.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Board Certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid licensure or certification as required by the state of practice within the United States.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical music therapy practice with diverse populations.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and ethical standards in music therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Music Therapy or related field.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or mental health facilities.
  • Additional certifications or training in specialized areas such as neurologic music therapy or pediatric therapy.
  • Proficiency in multiple musical instruments and technology-assisted music therapy tools.
  • Experience with research, program development, or teaching in the field of music therapy.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' needs and develop personalized music therapy treatment plans.
  • Implement individual and group music therapy sessions using a variety of techniques such as improvisation, songwriting, and receptive listening.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and family members to coordinate care and support client progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, client progress, and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with advancements in music therapy research and best practices.
