POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves assisting the surgeon at the sterile field by ensuring the availability of appropriate sterile instruments and supplies during surgical procedures. You will maintain the surgical field using aseptic techniques and work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse as part of the pre-operative team. Responsibilities include assisting in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients, assembling cases, collaborating with ancillary departments and team members, participating in performance improvement initiatives, and supporting the department as needed. CPR certification is required, along with certification within one year of employment.

EDUCATION

Completion of a formal accredited surgical technician training program.

EXPERIENCE

Graduation from a recognized accredited training program.
