Similar accolades identify our clinical and laboratory based translational research. **Ideal candidates will have academic interest and clinical or laboratory based research interest.** Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Our unparalleled benefits package includes retirement, medical and dental plans, malpractice, and conference and vacation.**Department/Division Overview** The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver unparalleled subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 state-of-the-art ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 groundbreaking multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, an 18-bed university hospital neurocritical care unit and 12-bed James hospital neuro and surgical critical care unit a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding teleneurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals. Our telestroke network is among the largest in the nation, encompassing 32 affiliated hospitals. Opening in Spring of 2026, the new inpatient tower will include an expansion of the university hospital neurocritical care unit capacity to a 30-bed, state-of-the-art, neurocritical care unit. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology is at the forefront of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders. Our fundamental research portfolio focuses on neurogenetics, neuroimmunology and neuroregenerative medicine. Our pioneering Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience are trailblazers in the field. This year alone, our faculty conducted over 320 clinical trials and studies, supported by a cutting-edge biorepository and brain bank. We're equally committed to education, offering 10 prestigious clinical fellowships and international training opportunities through the OSU Global Neurology Initiative, with partner programs in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2024, our Neurology Residency Program was ranked in the top 15th percentile nationwide on the Doximity Residency Navigator list. At OSUWMC Neurology faculty participate in a vibrant culture that is actively shaping the future of neurological care and research.**Duties and Responsibilities** Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission – patient care, education, and clinical research. The individual selected for this position will have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research. **Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank)**- Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care. **Research Faculty (regardless of rank)** - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years.
