McCluer HS Volleyball: High School Head Coach - Girls Starting Date: Immediately Minimum Qualifications Must possess a teaching certificate or a substitute‑teaching certificate (60 or more college hours). Duties/Responsibilities Preseason Size and order uniforms and equipment. Distribute uniforms and orders. Plan, organize and coach summer practices. Plan and receive administrative approval for fundraisers to defray athletes’ costs. Manage and distribute sports schedules. Complete MSHAA online rules review and NFHS concussion training. Provide first aid for students and maintain emergency procedures. Post information at high schools, middle schools, local parochial and private schools. Hold informational meetings for parents and participants. Keep track of applications, teacher recommendations, physical cards, proof of insurance and attendance for all applicants. Set up and manage tryouts. Season Follow all state, league, federation, building and district guidelines, procedures, and policies. Hold parent meetings. Order buses for activities. Ensure all in‑district and out‑of‑district travel forms are complete. Distribute uniforms and keep documentation by inventory or fine cards. Manage, supervise and attend all practices. Maintain compliance with all MSHSAA eligibility rosters at least 5 days prior to the first eligible contest. Submit a list of all participating transfer students to the Athletic Director to ensure MSHSAA eligibility is submitted within the first two days of practice. Attend all assigned games home and away, including postseason. Organize additional fundraisers throughout the season. Develop routines for assigned sports assemblies. Develop materials and attend pep rallies. Organize and participate in all Homecoming activities (Fall sports). Maintain activities that promote school spirit. Keep accurate records throughout the season including attendance and athletes’ grades. Report statistics to STL Prep Sports within two days after each contest. Attend to MSHSAA postseason online forms. Manage and discipline all athletes throughout the year. Submit approved timesheets to the Athletic Director no later than the Wednesday following the reporting period. Maintain parental contact. Assist athletes with the college recruitment process. Post‑Season Collect, wash, repair and store uniforms. Complete inventory report and submit it within two weeks of the season’s end. Submit fine cards to the Athletic Director’s office. Assist with hosting an event to distribute letters and awards. Assess and evaluate the year and plan improvements for the next year. Attend the post‑athletic evaluation meeting with the Athletic Director. Terms of Employment Athletic contracts are seasonal. Fall contracts are paid approximately November 10, winter contracts approximately February 10, and spring contracts approximately May 10. Safe Schools videos assigned by the district, plus concussion, CPR, AED and first aid certification videos to satisfy MSHSAA requirements. Timesheets if required. Substitute certificate at minimum.
