The Opportunity We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer (AI Operations & Optimization) to enhance and scale AI-driven security operations. This role will focus on improving how intelligent systems support threat detection, incident investigation, and response processes by refining workflows, strengthening automation, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate plays a key role in advancing the effectiveness and reliability of AI-enabled SOC capabilities while ensuring measurable improvements in performance and analyst efficiency. Key Details Role: Cyber Security Engineer (AI Operations & Optimization) Experience: 3-5 Years Work Location: Phoenix, AZ Project Duration: 12+ Months Contract Key Responsibilities Enhance AI-supported security workflows to improve investigation, triage, and response outcomes. Create and refine prompt strategies, workflow structures, and automation logic for security operations. Evaluate process performance and identify areas to improve accuracy, speed, and usability for analysts. Adjust decision‑making logic, including thresholds and escalation paths, to optimize operational flow. Implement safeguards, monitoring mechanisms, and governance practices for AI‑driven processes. Define and track key performance indicators to measure effectiveness, adoption, and productivity. Collaborate with analysts to gather insights and continuously improve workflows and processes. Assist in deploying and validating new AI use cases, enhancements, and system updates. Maintain clear documentation of processes, improvements, and operational standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in security operations, detection engineering, or automation-focused roles. Exposure to AI technologies such as large language models, intelligent assistants, or orchestration tools. Strong understanding of incident response processes and SOC operational practices. Experience working with performance metrics, dashboards, or reporting frameworks. Knowledge of workflow governance, operational controls, and monitoring strategies. Hands‑on experience with APIs, scripting, or system integrations. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with AI‑enhanced security platforms or automation ecosystems. Familiarity with improving operational processes through intelligent workflows. Exposure to enterprise-scale security environments. Understanding of continuous improvement practices within SOC environments.
