Site Inspector

Overview Site Inspector position supporting the Hermit's Peak / Calf Canyon claims operation through DHS. The project aids FEMA’s Hermit's Peak / Calf Canyon Claims Office, compensating New Mexico residents affected by the wildfires and floods. The role will be based in Santa Fe or Las Vegas, NM. Job Responsibilities Conduct field inspections of damaged properties and mitigation work to support compensation recommendations. Document impacts from fires, floods, and land loss with photos, measurements, coordinates, and Xactimate values. Perform onsite inspections, collect photos and evidence. Document damages and mitigation work accurately. Produce inspection reports using Xactimate. Validate loss eligibility and required repairs. Upload completed reports within required time frames. Qualifications High School Diploma. 10+ years of experience in construction inspection, insurance adjusting, disaster assessment, or damage valuation. Proficient with Xactimate: accurate structuring of POLs, damage assessment, and cost estimation. Strong technical knowledge of disaster‑related losses, repairs, and replacement costs. Proficiency with claims management software, databases, and related technology tools. Expert Xactimate use, strong report writing, accurate valuation, and outdoor work capability. Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain policies and regulations to claimants, FEMA staff, and stakeholders. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a FEMA Badge (Public Trust clearance) prior to deployment or site access. Valid driver’s license and successful motor vehicle record check. Preference for candidates with an active Public Trust Clearance. Compensation Expected compensation range: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.
