The organization is seeking a Senior Linux Platform Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team focused on building and supporting large-scale, automated systems. This hands-on role involves designing, optimizing, and automating Linux-based platforms while improving performance, reliability, security, and scalability across complex environments. The role also includes working with containerized platforms, Kubernetes, system troubleshooting, and developing automation tools to create more efficient and resilient infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Owning and improving large-scale Linux environments with a focus on performance and stability
• Working with container platforms and Kubernetes in privately hosted infrastructure environments
• Building automation and internal tooling using Python, Bash, and configuration management tools
• Supporting and improving CI/CD and deployment workflows across engineering teams
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues across OS, network, and container layers
• Strengthening system security through hardening, access control, and secure design principles
• Collaborating with engineering, operations, and security teams on platform improvements
• Supporting critical systems via an on-call rotation

Skills/Must Have:

• Strong background in Linux systems or platform engineering (5+ years)
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Solid scripting ability in Python and Bash
• Deep understanding of Linux internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible / SaltStack / Puppet etc.)
• Strong networking fundamentals and observability experience
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery workflows
• Bonus points
• Linux certifications (RHCE, LFCE or similar)
• Experience with container runtimes and registry management

Location: 

• New York or Chicago (4x per week in office)

Salary:

• Up to $200,000 Total Compensation
