Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) As a Team Member, it is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements: Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs. Support selling initiatives (TEAM): Thank the Customer Engage with the customer and/or pet Advise on products or services Make it Memorable Perform a combination of duties during 95% of your day, including: Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures Merchandise recovery Participate in freight process Complete Plan-o-gram procedures Assemble merchandise Perform janitorial duties Execute price changes/markdowns Assist customers with loading purchases Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals, maintaining tanks and caring for animals as required Complete all related documentation Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications No experience required; retail experience and/or pet/live animal knowledge is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required; must be able to read, write, and count accurately. Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict. Working Conditions Generally indoor environment with moderate noise. Work shifts vary, generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours. Maintain a safe and productive environment following safety guidelines. Physical Requirements Non-sedentary position requiring movement throughout the store and outdoor areas. Ability to lift or reach merchandise overhead occasionally. Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders frequently. Operate store equipment safely and efficiently. Read, write, and count accurately for documentation. Communicate effectively with team members and customers. Process merchandise through POS system. Move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
