Care Coordinator (Medical Receptionist/PSR)

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls
• Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps
• Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation

Qualifications

• You don't need a healthcare background to be great in this role - but you do need to be someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes ownership of your work. If you've worked in any customer-facing role and want to build a career in healthcare, we want to hear from you.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role, this could include retail, hospitality, call center, medical reception, or any setting where you regularly interacted with the public in person or over the phone
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone, including handling upset or frustrated callers with patience and professionalism

About

Compensation: $16.00 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule: M-TH: 8AM to 5PM; F: 8AM to 4PM (1 Hour Lunch Break 12 PM to 1PM)
