Medical Assistant

Responsibilities The Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for both administrative duties and direct patient care. The role includes clinical tasks such as discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, medication/vaccine administration, phlebotomy, specimen collection, diagnostic screening, sterilizing equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system. The assistant collaborates closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers, delivering direct patient care within the bounds of their certification. The assistant works with minimal direction, interpreting department policy and methods for completing assignments, while maintaining quality standards. Qualifications Required Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant school or training program, or equivalent certification, with approval from the Provider; 5+ years of experience may substitute for certification. High school diploma or equivalent. CPR Certified. Must pass a tuberculosis (TB) screening test as part of the company’s TB screening program. Preferred Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant (Arizona, Indiana & South Carolina candidates must hold state certification). Phlebotomy experience. Medication/vaccine administration experience. 1+ years of MA experience. Experience in Value-Based Care, including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with a required proficiency exam before foreign language communication. Working Hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week). Local travel may be required; mileage will be reimbursed. Pay $43,000 – $56,200 per year. The position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
