Patient Access Representative
Gifford is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our Patient Access Department. The representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities that contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient operations. The Patient Access Representative will pre-register, register, and check out patients across multiple services, including the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics. This role requires the ability to verify insurance, update medical records accurately, and ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations when working with Emergency Department patients. The representative will also be responsible for point-of-service collections, monitoring the Emergency Department Tracking Board, and operating the hospital switchboard. Additionally, this position involves reviewing patient orders for completeness, reconciling cash drawers, and proactively connecting patients with the Financial Counseling team when they are unable to meet their financial responsibilities.
