Truth and Transparency – I will communicate honestly and openly, ensuring clarity in our commitments and accountability in our actions Position Summary The IT Systems Administrator is highly organized in planning and maintaining on‑premises servers and cloud computing along with other assigned projects. Utilize strong multi‑tasking skills to help maintain our platforms. In this role, it is vital to be able to identify and define the requirements needed to keep the system running. Must have effective communication and successful planning strategies to ensure functionality. The IT Systems Administrator will also help manage the daily operations of the IT department. This position manages assigned systems, including associated IT equipment, software, and numerous interfaces with conducting system administration planning, coordination, modification, and employee needs. Job Duties & Responsibilities The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for achieving assigned objectives and goals related to all UAII systems, servers, cloud computing, telephony, communication, and security throughout the UAII. This role is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of future technology trends. Excellent IT, communication, leadership, and management skills Provide first‑level IT Support for end‑user hardware such as laptops, desktops, phones, printers, and other peripherals. Serve as a local specialist on hardware, software, telephony, and security Supply first‑level IT Support for end‑user software, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and various software application Respond and follow up on all IT support tickets submitted via phone, email, and in‑person Manage daily operations of the IT department Assist with the installation of new hardware and software for employees and train as needed Maintain all technical, physical, and software access control safeguards Maintain performance of regularly scheduled system management and maintenance procedures Responsible for maintaining local servers and workstations: Microsoft Windows updates, user permissions, anti‑virus updates, troubleshooting, building new servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, and installing third‑party software Resolve complex system issues related to, but not limited to, RPMS/EHR, Windows products, servers, LANs, and other compatible systems Knowledge of web design and maintenance, as well as encrypted email support Keep executive staff and program directors informed of any issues related to telephony and security of data systems in the absence of the Site Manager Support local and remote users accessing the network via VPN and Remote Desktop Recommend and maintain service‑level agreements Identify and document hardware/software recommendations and best practices. Help with providing onboarding and offboarding of new employees by preparing IT equipment cellphones, creating accounts, provisioning resources, and tracking assets Collect IT equipment, cellphone’s cancel account access to maintain an accurate assets inventory Prepare and lead technical instruction for incoming and exiting staff Recognize recurring technical issues and propose and implement appropriate solutions Take a proactive approach to the computing environment by identifying areas for improvement before issues arrive Maintain asset inventory and take ownership of tracking IT assets with HR, Facilities, and other departments Experience in writing policy and procedure – workflows, security manuals, and KB articles documentation. The individual should be capable of effectively completing high‑level tasks and applying problem‑solving skills to support organizational infrastructure. Configure and maintain a company's computers, servers, backups, cloud computing, networks, enterprise software, and security systems. They also optimize internal IT infrastructure for greater uptime and productivity to help the company stay compliant with cybersecurity regulations Ensures servers function properly, allowing UAII employees to communicate with each other, coordinate their actions, and take care of essential tasks, Problem‑solving and Administration. Coordinates and performs other duties, as assigned Liaise with external regulatory bodies, auditors, and legal counsel as necessary. Attend required departmental meetings as requested You may perform all elements of this position or identified components, other duties as assigned or required for the purpose of the position or for organizational efficiency and effective client service. Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. 2-5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator Experience working with or for a non‑profit organization, healthcare system, finance, clinical, administration, legal, or entertainment field. Proficient in Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. Network security, cybersecurity cloud computing, storage and backups Knowledge of MS Azure, AWS, and other cloud computing solutions. Device point protection tools, MDR, and CDR solutions Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience) PMP certifications or credentials are a plus but not required. Experience with EHR systems, particularly eClinicalWorks (eCW). Experience working in a healthcare setting Experience working with the American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native Hawaiian community. Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community groups, and performance‑based government contract Knowledge of Indian Self‑Determination and Education Assistance Act (Public Law 93-638) Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Maintain strict confidentiality of client and personnel information adhering to HIPAA, professional codes of conduct, State of CA regulations, Privacy Act, and UAII policies and procedures. Communicate and deal effectively with people professionally and courteously verbally and in writing Proficient in English Comfortable speaking and interacting one‑on‑one with employees at all levels in the organizations and vendors Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Working knowledge of MS Office 365, Zoom, Outlook Email, Calendar, and network drives) Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. Available and willing to travel to other work sites as needed Available to work evening and weekend hours as needed Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training sessions relevant to the position Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI Privacy understanding. Strong knowledge of relevant HIPAA regulations and industry best practices. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate problems. Detail‑oriented with exceptional organizational and documentation skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff members at all levels. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Ethical and professional conduct with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
