Equipment Yard Technician

Description

Kitchell is seeking an Equipment Yard Technician for our Kitchell Equipment Department in Phoenix, Arizona. The Equipment Yard Technician is responsible for meeting project team requirements as assigned by the Equipment Yard Foreman, the general maintenance, washing & detailing of company equipment assigned to the yard, and preparing equipment for pre-delivery, washing & inspecting small piece equipment, hook up & receiving of trailered or smaller rented equipment, also assisting in general clean up and organization of the equipment yard.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Observance of all safety measures.
• Prepping yard for start & close of business.
• Keeping all equipment inventories up to date with status for reuse.
• Loading & unloading equipment as yard flow dictates.
• As equipment returns, notify the equipment yard foreman of the conditions of damage or unserviceability.
• Staging returned equipment for T/A or repair & wash equipment.
• Moving equipment to the front or stage for next use after being washed & T/A,
• Keeping the equipment yard area clean & organized (moving equipment and/or vehicles).
• Delivering and picking up equipment to and from job sites.
• Reporting directly to the Equipment Yard Foreman.
• Ensuring equipment meets the company's quality standards of cleanliness.
• Towing of bumper pull and gooseneck/fifth-wheel trailers.
• Minor repairs and light servicing of equipment.
• Operating forklifts and reach forklifts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to work fluctuating schedules.
• Ability to take instructions and understand goals and processes.
• Ability to pass a forklift training and propane-training test.
• Punctuality.
• Safety awareness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions while wearing personal protective equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
• This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the position is very active, and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, trenching, and climbing throughout the day.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
• Operate hand tools.
• Reading and communicating plans.

Travel Requirement

• Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.
• Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
