Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8‑hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 pm – 4:30 am. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be necessary based on business needs. We offer 8 weeks of paid on‑the‑job training. Training hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm from Monday – Friday and will be aligned with your schedule. Primary Responsibilities Manage emergency department registration staff. Possess a working knowledge of computer applications. Demonstrate leadership and analytical thinking capability. Have working knowledge of insurance, including Commercial Contracts, Managed Care, and Government Programs (Federal, State, and local agencies). Understand basic medical terminology. Organize workflow to ensure accurate and timely team performance. Supervise work schedules, ensuring adequate and appropriate coverage of all positions. Select and delegate training and orientation for new staff. Assign staff responsibilities and evaluate performance. Provide counseling to employees on registration and performance issues. Required Qualifications High School Diploma / GED or equivalent years of work experience. Must be 18 years of age or older. 2+ years of experience working in a hospital patient registration department or physician office setting. 1+ year of supervisor/management or team lead experience in healthcare. Experience verifying patient insurance. Working knowledge of medical benefits and medical terminology. Ability to work full time onsite in the emergency department at California Hospital Medical Center. Availability to attend 8‑week training between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in ER Registration. Fluency in English and at least one other language. Compensation and Benefits Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, and more. The salary for this role ranges from $60,200 to $107,400 annually for full‑time employment. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
