About The Team The Global Communications team leads all external communications and related activities for the Company, coordinating efforts with the internal communications and social teams to ensure maximum impact. Each team member is responsible for telling Roku’s story, promoting and protecting the brand, and supporting partners across every line of business. The team covers Corporate communications (including crisis, financial, partner and policy communications); Devices, Product, Technology and Consumer communications; Content communications (including publicity for Roku Channel and Roku Originals); Advertising communications; and International communications for Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. This role will sit under the Devices & Consumer Team. About The Role The PR Coordinator will play a role in driving the consumer narrative for new products, product/OS features, and key campaigns. This includes drafting press releases, pitching media on new product and campaign initiatives, developing press materials for product launches, drafting blog posts to support announcements, creating recap reports, and providing media and competitor analysis. This role will support the U.S. Devices, Product & Technology Communications team for Roku’s device lines, including Roku Smart Home and Roku TV. Additionally, this role will provide support for the broader teams’ consumer tech PR efforts for the Roku OS (operating system). For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $86,000 - $107,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. What You’ll Be Doing Support, build and execute U.S. Roku Communications Develop press materials, including press releases, blog posts, pitches, briefing documents, recap reports, media and competitor analysis Support key product launches, partnerships and retail/consumer moments through pitch efforts Grow relationships with technology, consumer, and lifestyle media and influencers Build and support relationships with cross-functional stakeholders including Marketing, Product & Program management; act as liaison between teams and PR efforts Help maintain external product communications editorial calendar Stay on top of TV and smart home trends and quickly adapt plans to tap into pop culture moments Communicate knowledgably about the Roku streaming platform, Roku products, and The Roku Channel We’re excited if you have 2 – 4 years of consumer or product communications experience at a fast-growing tech company or agency Strong writing skills and the ability to produce materials without significant editing Strong interest in the news and media industries A love for streaming and all things TV Positive and collaborative personality; a commitment to ensuring all activities undertaken are as successful as possible Composure under pressure and ability to think and respond quickly Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment Ability to work cross-functionally with internal partners and stakeholders Excellent organizational and analytical communication skills Strong project management skills to effectively execute in a timely and organized manner Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks and inbound requests College degree in relevant field Benefits Roku is committed to offering a diverse range of benefits as part of our compensation package to support our employees and their families.
