Here’s what you can expect:Excellent pay with annual merit increases.Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.Additional benefits such as pet insurance, wellness programs, and online workout options.401k retirement plan with dollar-for-dollar company match.Paid vacation, holidays, and tuition reimbursement.Long-term stability with opportunities for advancement.A culture that values safety, collaboration, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.What You Will Do:As our HR Generalist, you’ll support the day-to-day HR needs of our manufacturing plant, with a strong focus on building relationships with employees and plant leadership.Employee Relations and EngagementBuild strong working relationships with hourly employees, supervisors, and plant leadership.Maintain a regular presence on the manufacturing floor and engage with employees across shifts.Serve as a trusted HR resource for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues.Conduct employee investigations and support supervisors and plant management with disciplinary matters.Help create a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives and events.Consistently administer plant policies, the Employee Handbook, and corporate policies.Recruiting and OnboardingRecruit, interview, and hire hourly manufacturing employees using the Workday Applicant Tracking System.Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including drug testing, background checks, and physicals.Lead new-hire orientation and onboarding to help employees start successfully.HR Administration and ComplianceMaintain accurate employee files, applicant records, and HR documentation.Administer and track FMLA, sick leave, and long-term disability.Support compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.Maintain required employment and legal postings.Assist with benefits administration and provide HR-related training as needed.Payroll and Plant SupportProcess daily labor hours, shift trades, and vacation time using Kronos and reconcile information against production schedules.Verify attendance, leaves of absence, and pay adjustments.Support purchasing orders, invoices, and other accounts payable activities using OnBase.Maintain consistent communication with plant leadership across all shifts and crews as well as Corporate Human Resources.What You Bring:High school diploma or equivalent required.Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field strongly preferred.2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment OR 7+ years of HR Generalist experience.Strong employee relations and employee engagement skills.A hands-on HR approach with the ability and willingness to maintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor.Flexibility to interact with employees working different shifts within our 24/7 manufacturing operation.Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information professionally.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Workday and Kronos is a plus.Take the Next Step!If you’re an HR professional who enjoys connecting with employees, partnering with plant leadership, and making an impact beyond the HR office, we’d like to hear from you.Apply today to join Silgan Containers in Kenosha, WI, and help us support the people who keep our manufacturing operation running.LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
