This onsite technician role supports multiple data centers by managing hosting tickets, maintaining and repairing mining hardware, and ensuring accurate equipment tracking and performance. You will work hands-on with ASIC and GPU mining equipment, perform routine maintenance and basic repairs, and help keep operations running smoothly and efficiently across several locations.

* Responsibilities

• Generate, monitor, and manage hosting tickets efficiently to ensure timely resolution of issues.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in ticketing and related systems to support clear documentation and traceability.

• Prioritize miners each day to address critical issues quickly and minimize downtime.

• Ensure accurate miner accountability on the site map by updating locations and statuses regularly.

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on miners to keep equipment operating reliably.

• Monitor hosting tickets and complete initial diagnostics and repairs on assigned hardware.

• Identify defective boards, clearly label them with relevant information, and prepare them for further handling or replacement.

• Interpret miner logs to diagnose and troubleshoot performance issues and identify root causes.

• Verify miner adjustments both visually and within the system to confirm optimal operation and configuration.

• Perform filter replacements and address overheating issues, including applying foam and other mitigation measures as needed.

• Use hand tools safely and effectively for assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks.

• Support preventive maintenance activities to reduce unplanned outages and extend equipment life.

* Essential Skills

• Experience working with computers and comfort handling computer hardware components.

• Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing computer and hardware-related issues.

• Ability to identify and assemble ASIC and GPU mining hardware components.

• Understanding of troubleshooting basics, including detecting overheating, connectivity failures, and power supply (PSU) problems.

• Basic repair skills, including cleaning equipment, replacing fans, and addressing minor hardware faults.

• Electrical and mechanical aptitude for working with mining hardware and related systems.

• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, assembly, repair, service, construction, and preventive maintenance.

• Proficiency using hand tools safely for assembly, maintenance, and repair work.

• Soldering experience for basic hardware repairs and component replacements.

* Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in or experience with data center environments and hosting operations.

• Ability to read and interpret equipment logs to support diagnostics and performance tuning.

• Strong attention to detail when labeling, documenting, and tracking hardware components.

• Capability to work independently and manage tasks in a ticket-driven workflow.

• Comfort working in environments where both electrical and mechanical systems are present.

* Work Environment

Work is performed onsite at data centers located in Algona, IA, Thompson, IA, Manchester, IA, and Osage, IA. The role requires working in all elements, including varying outdoor weather conditions when moving between facilities or working around site infrastructure. Work site trailers are climate controlled to provide a comfortable space for certain tasks and breaks. You will work hands-on with ASIC and GPU mining hardware and related electrical and mechanical equipment, using hand tools and basic service equipment as part of daily operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Greenfield, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
