Manufacturing Engineer IIHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II in our Tucson, AZ location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.Specific responsibilities include:Maintain flow of production via real time trouble shooting and evaluation of rejected productMaintain product drawings, routing sheets, manufacturing procedures and material specifications.Provide continuous improvement of tooling and manufacturing methods.Lead Capital Projects: justification and industrialization.Work with and lead production teams to enhance manufacturing processes and troubleshoot issues.Lead cross functional team in the determination of root cause, corrective action of problems.Help to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.Perform other duties as assigned.Adhere to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.Education:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Metallurgical Engineering or related field.Must be proficient in SolidWorks.QAD MRP experience preferred.Experience and background:Three to five year of experience in a metal working industry is preferred.Familiarity to metal working principles required.Must have strong communication and problem solving skills.Must be skilled in use of personal computers with emphasis on analytical software.Knowledge of world class manufacturing principles such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc. are preferred.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
